SPRINGFIELD — A local woman faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening another person with a BB gun that resembled a real firearm, police said Tuesday.

Michelle Pollard, 55, of Springfield, was cited on charges of aggravated assault, criminal threatening and reckless endangerment following an incident Monday night, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a dispute at 9:10 p.m. Monday.

Upon investigation, they determined Pollard had brandished what appeared to be a gun and made threats to the victim, police said.

The weapon was later identified as a realistic-looking BB gun, authorities said.

Pollard was issued a citation to appear Wednesday in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division.

Police noted that decisions regarding bail and incarceration are made by the judicial system, not law enforcement.

The incident remains under investigation by Sgt. Fitzgibbons and Officer Callahan of the Springfield Police Department.
