Ware man faces multiple charges including animal sexual contact, kidnapping

WARE — In a joint operation, the Ware Police Department and the State Police Detective Unit apprehended Michael Stanikmas, a local resident, on multiple criminal charges on Monday.

Stanikmas, born on March 31, 1990, faces serious allegations including two counts of sexual contact with animals, domestic strangulation/suffocation, kidnapping, witness intimidation, rape, and two counts of domestic assault and battery.

The investigation, conducted by Ware detectives and members of the State Police Detective Unit attached to the Hampshire County District Attorney’s Office, culminated in the arrest of Stanikmas.

Following the investigation, authorities took Stanikmas into custody without incident.

The charges against Stanikmas stem from violations of several Massachusetts General Laws, reflecting the severity of the alleged offenses.

Stanikmas is currently being held on a $200,000 bail.

He is scheduled for arraignment at the Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown, MA, on Tuesday.

Authorities have not released further details about the case pending the arraignment.
