GRAFTON — A motor vehicle crash involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle occurred at 7:11 a.m. today on 135 Upton Street, resulting in serious injuries for the car driver.
Grafton Police and Fire Departments, along with MedStar Ambulance and Westborough Fire Ambulance, responded to the emergency call.
The car driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was subsequently transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The school bus, en route to Blackstone Valley Regional Technical Vocational High School in Upton, carried 14 passengers.
None of the students were injured.
The bus driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Officials from Blackstone Valley Technical Vocational High School arrived at the scene to assist with the students on the bus.
The Grafton Highway Department managed traffic detours and road closures around the crash site, while the Upton Police Department controlled traffic flow at the intersection of Upton Street and Old Upton Road.
The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the accident, leading to the closure of Upton Street in both directions for several hours.
The street was reopened to traffic at 11:25 a.m.
