WEST BROOKFIELD — A pedestrian accident on East Main Street near the Town Center is under investigation after a man was seriously injured last night, police said.

At about 5:40 p.m., West Brookfield Police responded to reports of the accident, which was called in by the regional dispatch center C8.

Officers found a conscious adult male with traumatic injuries at the scene.

The Rescue Squad transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

High winds in the area prevented an air ambulance from providing assistance, officials said.

The West Brookfield Police expressed their concern for the injured pedestrian and his family and extended thanks to mutual aid partners for their support during the emergency response.
