YARMOUTH — A head-on crash on Route 6A led to the arrest of a Yarmouth Port man on Monday afternoon, police said.
The collision occurred just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Route 6A and Willow Street, where a GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Daniel Doto, 40, crossed the center line as it pulled into traffic from Willow Street, slamming into an oncoming Jeep Wrangler.
On arrival, Yarmouth Police discovered both vehicles with significant front-end damage and deployed airbags.
The Jeep’s driver sustained minor injuries, while Doto appeared unharmed.
During their investigation, officers noted signs of impairment in Doto’s behavior.
After a series of field sobriety tests, Doto was taken into custody.
He is facing charges including Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and a Marked Lanes Violation.
Doto was expected to appear for arraignment at the Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.
