Springfield man faces charges after crashing into telephone pole

SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man was cited for violating conditions of his release after crashing a vehicle into a telephone pole, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Orion Pfenning, 29, of Springfield, was involved in a single motor vehicle accident on Park Street at approximately 12:48 p.m. on Dec. 16.

Cpl. Perkins and Ofc. Kelcey responded to the scene, where they found the car had struck a telephone pole.

Investigation revealed that Pfenning was allegedly driving the vehicle when the crash occurred.

A check of his conditions of release indicated that Pfenning had active orders prohibiting him from operating a motor vehicle.

Authorities issued Pfenning a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Feb. 18 at 8:30 a.m.

He is expected to answer to the charge of Violation of Conditions of Release.
