SOMERSWORTH — Attorney General John M. Formella and local authorities released new information Tuesday about a suspicious death investigation stemming from a shooting incident Monday evening.
According to a joint statement by Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B.
Hall, and Somersworth Police Chief Timothy McLin, a deceased adult male was found with gunshot wounds outside an apartment building at 97 High Street.
A second male was discovered inside the building with non-fatal injuries that were not caused by gunfire.
Investigators believe an argument between the two men may have been witnessed by several individuals moments before the shooting.
Those witnesses reportedly left the scene before police arrived and are now being urged to come forward with any information.
While the involved parties have been identified and no further threat to the public is suspected, the investigation remains active.
Authorities are especially keen on speaking with anyone who has not yet provided a statement to the police.
The identity of the deceased will remain undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
An autopsy is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 31.
Officials have stated that more details will be shared as they become available, ensuring the ongoing investigation is not compromised.
Witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the incident are encouraged to contact the Somersworth Police Department at 603-692-3131.
