MARSTONS MILLS — A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly shooting a high-powered airgun at tree workers, causing a bullet hole in a nearby home’s window, according to Barnstable police.
Kyle Stacey of Marstons Mills was taken into custody after officers responded to a 911 call about an individual firing what appeared to be a rifle at workers on Tanbark Road.
The incident occurred approximately 30 minutes after police initially cleared the scene where the bullet hole was reported.
Upon the officers’ return, Stacey retreated into his residence but eventually complied with demands to exit and was apprehended.
The Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team, Barnstable Police K-9 Unit, and Barnstable Police Detective Unit were also called to the scene due to the nature of the incident.
Authorities executed a search warrant at Stacey’s home and found .30 caliber projectiles, firearm cleaning tools, and several airguns, including a Vulcan 3 .30 caliber airgun capable of firing projectiles with a velocity of up to 1,000 feet per second.
Stacey faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, vandalism, and resisting arrest.
He is being held on $15,000 cash bail and is expected to be arraigned at Barnstable District Court on Thursday.
