SCITUATE — A North Smithfield woman was arrested Monday evening on charges related to passing fraudulent checks, according to Rhode Island State Police.
At 8:29 p.m. on Dec. 30, troopers from the Scituate Barracks apprehended Sandra Tetreault, 58, of 610 Greenville Road, for allegedly issuing fraudulent checks amounting to over $1,500.
The arrest followed a joint investigation by the Scituate Barracks and the Woonsocket Police Department, which led to the location and apprehension of Tetreault.
Following her arrest, Tetreault was transported to the State Police Headquarters for processing.
She was held pending her arraignment in the Third Division District Court, where she will face charges as a violator.
