MONT VERNON — Scot Abelson of Mont Vernon has been sentenced to 25 to 50 years in New Hampshire State Prison after being found guilty of five counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault against a juvenile family member, authorities said Monday.
The Mont Vernon Police Department began their investigation in July after receiving a report about the assaults, which occurred over several years.
The lengthy investigation led to Abelson’s arrest, indictment, and eventual conviction.
The police department expressed gratitude to the victim for their courage throughout the investigation and trial.
Chief Slavin also extended thanks to the officers and detectives for their dedicated work, as well as to the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County, the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office, and their victim advocates for their support and assistance.
