Newington man arrested on Christmas Day for armed robbery at Cumberland Farms

NEWINGTON — On the evening of December 25, Newington Police Officers captured Dylan Martin, 32, of Bristol, in connection with an armed robbery at the Cumberland Farms store at 724 Cedar Street.

Responding to an alert from store employees at approximately 7:56 p.m., the officers were informed that Martin, who was purportedly armed with a knife, had fled the store on foot.

Newington Police K9 Ray successfully tracked Martin to the CT Fastrak busway, where he was seen walking along the pedestrian walkway.

Upon being confronted by the officers, Martin attempted to run but was subsequently apprehended following a brief pursuit.

K9 Ray and the officers were able to take him into custody without further incident.

Martin faces charges including Robbery in the Second Degree (53a-135), Larceny in the Sixth Degree (53a-125b), Interfering with an Officer (53a-167a), and Failure to Pay or Plea (51-164r(b)).

He has been detained on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Britain Superior Court on December 26.
