VERNON — Detectives from the Vernon Police Department, in collaboration with the Norwich Violent Crimes Task Force, have apprehended 32-year-old Samuel Rivera from Norwich in connection to an early morning shooting on Union Street that took place on Oct. 5.
Rivera was taken into custody on Dec. 3 and faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment in the first degree, interfering with an officer, and tampering with evidence.
Following his arrest, Rivera was detained on a $650,000 bond and made his initial court appearance on Dec. 5.
