Worcester police arrest two on gun charges

WORCESTER — Worcester police, working with state and federal agencies, arrested two men on multiple gun charges following an early morning raid Wednesday.

At 6:05 a.m. on Dec. 11, Worcester Police Department’s SWAT team executed a search warrant at a Russell Street residence.

Officers found Luke Hanley, 22, Calagio Colon, 19, and a juvenile inside.

The Gang Unit, Massachusetts State Police and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives then searched the home.

Investigators discovered three firearms in a bedroom Hanley claimed as his, along with ammunition and a spent shell casing in another room.

Hanley faces charges including possession of a firearm without FID, possession of large capacity firearms, and possession of a machine gun.

This is his second firearms offense.

Colon was charged with possession of a firearm without FID and related offenses.

The juvenile faces a charge of possession of ammunition without FID.

Neither Hanley nor Colon could produce a valid firearms license.
