SOMERVILLE — Two men were arrested Thursday after police found a loaded firearm near a vehicle they had abandoned in the roadway.
At approximately 7:21 a.m., Somerville police responded to 30 Washington St. for a report of two males who exited a vehicle and left it parked in the street.
Officers observed the men walking into the Holiday Inn.
During a plain-view inspection of the vehicle, police spotted a .40-caliber bullet inside.
When approached, the men appeared nervous and began rejecting officers’ commands.
Detectives searched the area and located a loaded firearm under a nearby vehicle.
Both men were subsequently arrested.
In a separate incident Sunday, police arrested a woman following a road rage altercation in Union Square.
At about 11:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fight.
The victim told police she was involved in an argument with another woman, who then attacked her and damaged her belongings.
Police arrested the female suspect at the scene.
On Dec. 6, police responded to a business in Davis Square after a man allegedly threw a phone charger at an employee’s face when told he could not return the item.
Other recent incidents reported to Somerville police include six car break-ins, two motor vehicle thefts, three package thefts, two motor vehicle vandalisms and three other vandalism cases.
