EASTHAM — On Sunday night, Eastham Police Department assisted Massachusetts State Police in safely apprehending an individual experiencing a mental health crisis who had brandished a firearm after a vehicular pursuit.
The incident began around 10:20 p.m. when state troopers sought help from local authorities.
The vehicle pursuit ended in Eastham, where the driver exited the vehicle with a weapon in hand.
State and local police worked together to surround and contain the individual.
After a brief standoff, the subject was taken into custody without any injuries reported.
The Massachusetts State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
