Fire marshal investigates fatal tent fire in Bangor

BANGOR — A fatal fire that erupted inside a tent at 49 Cleaveland Street on Nov. 10 has prompted an investigation by the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 9:14 p.m., where they discovered an adult male deceased inside the tent.

The body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy to confirm the identity of the victim.

Investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office are working in collaboration with the Bangor Fire Department and the Bangor Police Department to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
