East Greenwich man faces weapon, drug charges after traffic stops

EAST GREENWICH — A routine traffic stop on Route 4 led to the arrest of a Warren man for multiple weapons violations on Thursday.

At 12:13 p.m., Rhode Island State Troopers detained Nicholas Custodio, 31, of 16 South Grove Avenue, charging him with carrying a pistol without a license, possession of prohibited large-capacity feeding devices, having other prohibited weapons, and carrying loaded weapons in a vehicle.

Following the stop, Custodio was taken to the Wickford Barracks for processing.

He was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released, with a date set for a future hearing in the Third District Court.

In a separate incident at 12:52 p.m., Matthew Macnie, 36, of 206 Kenyon Avenue, was arrested after his vehicle was pulled over on Division Street due to erratic driving.

Macnie faces charges for cocaine possession, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and refusing a blood test.

After processing at Wickford Barracks, Macnie was arraigned and released into the care of a responsible adult.
