BRIDPORT — A Bridport man was taken into custody Monday morning following an alleged domestic disturbance that involved assault and interference with emergency services.
Vermont State Police responded to a call at 8:29 a.m. at a residence on VT Route 22a in Bridport.
The investigation determined that 27-year-old Donny Austin had caused pain to a household member during the incident.
Further details regarding the nature of the assault were not disclosed, as the victim’s information remains confidential in domestic violence cases.
Austin was subsequently located and arrested at the Jiffy Mart Gas Station in New Haven.
Following his arrest, he was processed and the court issued conditions for his release along with a citation.
Austin is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division of Addison County on Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m. to face the charges.
