WEST SPRINGFIELD — Three individuals were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following a police pursuit that ended at a local car dealership, authorities said.

The West Springfield Police Department reported that on Oct. 9 at about 3:45 p.m., patrol officers and detectives responded to Century Plaza on Memorial Avenue after spotting a Black Honda Civic linked to multiple crimes in the area.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, identified as Jami Harrington of Westfield, allegedly sped off toward Memorial Avenue.

After a short chase, police managed to corner the vehicle at the entrance of the Father’s and Sons Audi dealership.

Harrington and passenger Joseph Seymour, Jr. reportedly switched seats, and Seymour attempted to escape by ramming into a police cruiser.

Officers subsequently removed both individuals from the car, along with Kathryne Seymour, Joseph Seymour’s sister.

Joseph Seymour, Jr. and Kathryne Seymour, both residents of West Springfield, were wanted in connection with a May homicide on Amostown Road.

The charges against Joseph Seymour, Jr. include operating a motor vehicle after suspension, negligent operation, failure to stop for police, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and three outstanding warrants.

Kathryne Seymour faces four warrants.

Harrington faces charges of operating a motor vehicle after suspension, negligent operation, failure to stop for police, marked lanes violation, failure to wear a seatbelt, speeding, and resisting arrest.

The arrests were made without injury to anyone involved and without damage to property or to other motorists, thanks to the coordinated effort of the officers, the department said.
