GEORGIA — A single-vehicle accident on Interstate 89 Northbound near milemarker 108.2 resulted in minor injuries for a New York man late Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 5:39 p.m., Vermont State Police from the St. Albans Barracks were called to the scene of the crash involving a 2014 Toyota Corolla with substantial front-end damage.
The operator, Jody Rivers, 61, of Champlain, New York, was transported to Northwest Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
Rivers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Rivers’ vehicle was forced off the road by a silver Ford SUV, which was missing its gas cover and may have sustained damage on its driver side.
Rivers and several witnesses provided consistent accounts of the events leading to the collision.
Authorities are seeking information from the public to locate the Ford SUV involved in the incident.
