BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested a Roxbury man Tuesday evening after responding to a 911 call about a person with a gun.
At about 7:56 p.m., officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrived at 69 McGreevey Way following a report from a security officer who witnessed a man brandishing what appeared to be a firearm on the building’s security cameras.
The security officer told police he saw the individual, later identified as 44-year-old Juan Pimentel, pacing in the lobby and confronting others entering the building.
The suspect was then seen taking a firearm out of his waistband before entering an apartment.
Police went to the apartment, announced their presence, and were eventually met by Pimentel.
During the investigation, building security found a firearm in the grass outside, near Pimentel’s apartment window.
The weapon, a Taurus G3 9mm without a magazine, was confirmed to be stolen from New Hampshire.
Pimentel was taken into custody and faces charges including Carrying a Firearm Without a License and Receiving Stolen Property.
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
