Worcester motorcycle crash leaves one dead

WORCESTER — A 26-year-old Westborough man was killed early Monday morning when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Shrewsbury Street, according to Worcester Police Department officials.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., police were called to the scene at 465 Shrewsbury St. where they found the motorcycle operator with fatal injuries.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The WPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit took over the investigation, which indicated that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed before striking the vehicle, which was executing a left turn.

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact.

While the vehicle involved sustained damage, its occupants were unharmed.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
