East Montpelier crash leaves woman injured, police seek hit-and-run truck

EAST MONTPELIER — A hit-and-run incident on Sept. 7 left a 72-year-old woman injured and police searching for the driver of a white truck that fled the scene.

Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash around 12:17 p.m. on Route 2 near Muddy Brook Road.

The investigation indicated that Eleanor Gaudette, of Williston, was driving west when her vehicle was struck by the truck, which then left the area.

The truck is believed to have sustained damage to its front end and passenger side.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or those involved to contact Trooper Hastings at the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
