EAST HAMPTON — The East Hampton Police Department reported a series of arrests and incidents occurring between Aug. 25 and Sept. 8, highlighting the department’s active role in maintaining public safety.
On Aug. 25, Maribeth Gomez, 56, of East Hartford, was arrested for Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree and Unsafe Backing.
She is scheduled to appear at the Middletown Superior Court on Sept. 3 at 9 a.m.
The following day, Timothy Scovill, 60, from East Hampton, faced charges for Obscenity and Harassment in the 2nd Degree.
His court appearance is set for Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. at the same court.
Another significant arrest occurred on Aug. 28, when James Jones, 27, a former resident of East Hampton, was taken into custody on charges including Arson in the 3rd Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, relating to a structure fire on March 19.
Unable to post the $75,000 bond, Jones remains in custody.
Amanda Ferrington, 21, of Somers, was issued a summons for Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree on Aug. 30 and was also taken into custody for Threatening in the 2nd Degree.
She posted a $50,000 bond and is due in court on Sept. 3.
On Sept. 1, two arrests were made: Kerri Devine, 37, of East Hampton, charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Patrick Barber, 66, also of East Hampton, charged with multiple offenses, including Assault in the 3rd Degree and Threatening in the 1st Degree involving a firearm during a road rage incident.
Barber posted a $50,000 bond and will appear in court on Sept. 10.
Sept. 3 and Sept. 4 saw Ashton Grenus, 20, receive a ticket for Illegal Use of a Vehicle Registration, and Luis Rodriguez, 26, of East Hartford, taken into custody on burglary and larceny charges.
Rodriguez could not post the $75,000 bond and was arraigned later that day.
Additionally, a 17-year-old male from East Hampton was ticketed for Traveling Unreasonably Fast on Sept. 5.
During this period, East Hampton police responded to 38 medical calls, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 13 alarms, and conducted 28 traffic stops.
