CARMEL — A box truck struck a railroad overpass on Five Road at around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 7, prompting a response from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and railroad officials.
According to the Penobscot Regional Communications Center, the collision caused significant damage to the truck, though the driver reported no injuries.
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage to the bridge.
This is not the first incident at the overpass, which is clearly marked with signage.
