ST. ALBANS — A St. Albans man was arrested Aug. 2 after allegedly contacting his victim, breaching conditions of release from an April sexual assault charge.

Vermont State Police said Skylar Lawder, 24, of Montpelier, was apprehended at Burton Island State Park after detectives received a tip about the violation.

Lawder reportedly resisted arrest and attempted to destroy evidence.

During the incident, no injuries were reported.

Lawder was taken to the St. Albans barracks without further issue and held without bail on the sexual assault charge.

Additionally, he was held on $10,000 bail for the new charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.

This arrest marks the fourth time Lawder has been accused of violating his release conditions.

Vermont Fish and Wildlife Wardens assisted state police in accessing the park for the arrest.
