HILLSBORO — In an ongoing effort to combat the exploitation of children, Hillsboro Police Department, alongside multiple law enforcement agencies, conducted a search warrant on Aug. 7 at a residence on Deering Center Road, resulting in the arrest of a local man on multiple counts related to child sexual abuse images.
Marcus Baucom, 37, has been charged with five counts of possession of child sexual abuse images.
The search and subsequent charges stem from a meticulous investigation by Hillsboro Police, with assistance from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Antrim Police Department, and the Deering Police Department.
Details on the specifics of the evidence gathered have not been released, as the investigation is ongoing.
Baucom is expected to be arraigned before the court at a later date, the specifics of which have not been disclosed.
