BOSTON — At about 4:50 p.m., on Wednesday, Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 arrested 19-year-old Michael McGee of Fall River for an outstanding warrant along with firearms and trespassing offenses during a stop at 62 Orlando St. in Mattapan.

The officers were increasing their presence around Almont Park to boost safety for individuals engaging in sports and other activities in the area.

Their attention was drawn to three individuals on Orlando St. who altered their behavior upon noticing the police.

One of the group, later identified as McGee, was seen entering a nearby backyard, prompting officers to investigate.

Upon locating McGee in the yard, officers, aware of his active arrest warrant, took him into custody.

However, the backpack he had been carrying was missing.

A K-9 unit with dogs trained in firearm detection was called to the scene.

K-9 Juno alerted officers to a backpack in a neighboring yard, which upon inspection was found to contain two loaded firearms — a Smith and Wesson M&P 40 with ten cartridges and a Glock 34 9mm with sixteen cartridges.

McGee is facing charges including two counts of Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card, two counts of Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm and Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Firearm Without a License (2nd Subsequent Offense), and Trespassing.

He will also face charges from an arrest warrant for motor vehicle violations and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
