SPRINGFIELD — A local man was taken into custody by Springfield police on an in-state arrest warrant, authorities said Wednesday.
Nathan Heist was apprehended on July 3 at about 8:04 p.m. after Officer Guzzo, patrolling in a marked cruiser, spotted him on Valley Street and recognized him as having an active warrant, according to a Springfield Police Department press release.
Heist was arrested at 8:07 p.m. without incident by Officer Guzzo and Officer Singleton and was brought to the Springfield Police Department for processing.
Following his arrest, Heist was issued a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on July 5 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge.
He was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility and held in lieu of $500 cash or surety bail.
