Boston police identify victim in Shawmut Avenue homicide

BOSTON — Boston Police Department officials have released the identity of a man killed in a shooting on Shawmut Avenue earlier this month.

At about 1:33 a.m. on July 5, officers assigned to District D-4 responded to a report of a shooting at 618 Shawmut Avenue in the South End neighborhood.

Upon arrival, they found Warren Julien, 40, of Jamaica Plain, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite being rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Julien was later pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is now actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Julien’s death.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
