BERLIN — After a lengthy investigation, Berlin police have apprehended two suspects in connection with an armed robbery at a Citgo Gas Station on Farmington Avenue earlier this year.

The robbery occurred just after midnight on Jan. 12, with the suspects fleeing the scene before law enforcement arrived.

The Berlin Police Investigations Division worked tirelessly, leading to the identification and arrest of the culprits who were also linked to additional robberies in Manchester, Fairfield, and North Haven.

Arrest warrants were issued for Andre Oliveira De Paula, 21, of Millis, Massachusetts, and a 17-year-old juvenile male, whose name has not been released due to his age.

Both suspects were extradited from Massachusetts to face charges in Connecticut.

De Paula faces charges for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st Degree and Accessory to Robbery 1st Degree.

He was held on a $1 million bond.

The juvenile, charged with Robbery 1st Degree, is currently being held in a Connecticut Juvenile Detention Center.

The successful arrests have brought relief to the communities affected by the string of violent crimes.
