RI state police troopers make multiple arrests for firearms, DUI, and warrant violations

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks executed several arrests on Thursday, including one for a bench warrant and others for firearm and DUI violations.

At 9:30 a.m., troopers arrested Troy Lassiter, 51, of Johnston, on a Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for failing to appear for a restitution review on the original charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, originating from the Cranston Police Department.

Lassiter’s arrest followed an investigation into suspicious activity on Cranston Street.

He was subsequently taken to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Later in the day, at 6:04 p.m., Soilandro Disla, 32, of Newport, was arrested on charges including carrying a pistol without a license or permit, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of prohibited large-capacity feeding devices.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Deborah Street.

Disla was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight for arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court.

Simultaneously, Chabelis Rosario, 25, of Cranston, was also taken into custody on Deborah Street for carrying a pistol without a license or permit and two counts of possessing prohibited large-capacity feeding devices.

Rosario was processed at the barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released from custody.

At 8:37 p.m., Jetro Gomes, 41, of Pawtucket, faced arrest following a motor vehicle accident at Lincoln Woods State Park.

He was charged with driving under the influence, driving after denial/revocation/suspension for certain violations, vandalism/malicious injury to property, destruction of public property over $100, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Gomes was held at the barracks overnight pending arraignment at the Third Division District Court.
