Motorcycle operator killed in collision in Franklin

FRANKLIN — A motor vehicle crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 57-year-old local resident Saturday evening, authorities said.

The Franklin Police and Fire Department responded to the incident at 543 East Central Street at approximately 7:27 p.m. First responders quickly administered life-saving measures to the motorcycle operator upon arrival.

Despite their efforts, the operator was transported to Milford Hospital and later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the sedan involved in the collision was also taken to Milford Hospital but was released without serious injuries.

The collision is currently under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, and the Franklin Police Department.

Officials stated that no charges are expected to be filed in relation to this incident.

No further details have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
