Driver charged with DUI after found slumped over wheel in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police Department officers responded to a call on March 28 involving a man slumped over his vehicle’s steering wheel, which has led to DUI charges.

Patrol officers Singleton and Guzzo arrived at 67 River Street around 12:01 p.m. after reports of a non-responsive driver.

Following an investigation and blood test results from the Vermont Forensic Laboratory, Patrick Richardson, the vehicle’s operator, was allegedly found to be under the influence of drugs.

Richardson was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on July 30 to respond to the charge of DUI drugs.
