Bradford man arrested on multiple charges, including fugitive status

BRADFORD — Troopers from the Vermont State Police – St. Johnsbury Barracks arrested a local man on Sunday after responding to a domestic dispute and discovering he was wanted in two states.

At 12:36 p.m., authorities arrived at 379 Lower Plain Road where they found 36-year-old Gregory Sargent.

During the encounter, troopers determined there were active warrants for Sargent’s arrest from Vermont and New Hampshire.

Sargent, a Bradford resident, was detained and searched, leading to the discovery of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Sargent faces charges of being a fugitive from justice, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to appear.

He is scheduled to appear before the Orange County Superior Court on June 10 at 12:30 p.m. regarding these charges.
