Oxford police arrest man in Market Basket purse-snatching incident

OXFORD — Oxford Police officers responded to a purse-snatching call at the Market Basket on Sutton Avenue today, leading to the arrest of a 53-year-old man.

Authorities were called to the grocery store after a report of a stolen purse.

The subsequent investigation pointed to Raymond Gonzalez of Webster as the suspect.

Gonzalez was apprehended at his residence at 119 Thompson Road and is facing charges of larceny from a person.

Gonzalez is scheduled for arraignment at the Dudley District Court on Monday.

His bail has been set at $140.
