Montgomery garage fire extinguished, one treated for minor injuries

MONTGOMERY — Police and firefighters responded to a garage fire at a residence on Westfield Road this afternoon, where they found a vehicle ablaze.

Officers from the Montgomery Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after the fire was reported and observed smoke emanating from the garage area.

The quick actions of the officers led to the extinguishment of the fire, preventing further damage and securing the site for the arrival of the Russell Fire Department.

According to officials, one person was treated at the scene for minor injuries by personnel from Hilltown Ambulance.

The Westfield Fire Department was also present, providing mutual aid to ensure the fire was fully suppressed and all potential hazards were addressed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but initial reports from the scene indicated that the vehicle inside the garage was the source of the blaze.
