Manchester police seek hit-and-run suspect after teen injured in scooter collision

MANCHESTER — A 15-year-old boy was injured in a collision with a vehicle while riding his electric scooter at the intersection of West Middle Turnpike and New State Road early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Manchester police said they responded to the scene at about 6:57 a.m. after receiving reports of the incident.

The teen was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved briefly stopped before fleeing eastbound on West Middle Turnpike.

The car, identified as a green Nissan Altima with Massachusetts plates 7SX682, is believed to be using a misuse registration.

Notable features of the suspect vehicle include a spare tire on the front right side and a significant dent on the rear left bumper, as well as expected damage to the right-side view mirror from the collision.

Witnesses described the driver as a Hispanic female in her 20s or 30s.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect and vehicle.
