Man charged with DUI in Alburgh

ALBURGH — A South Carolina man was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle was found off the road near the Welcome Center in Alburgh.

Vermont State Police responded to a call on June 7 about a vehicle in a field off US Route 2.

Troopers identified the driver as 66-year-old Timothy Bourgeois from Beaufort, South Carolina.

During the interaction, troopers observed signs of impairment.

Bourgeois was processed for DUI and subsequently released on a citation to appear in court.
