Man dead after apparent drowning at Carry Beach in Wolfeboro

WOLFEBORO — An investigation is ongoing after a man drowned at Carry Beach on Thursday evening.

At 6:16 p.m. on June 6, emergency personnel from the Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department were called to a scene where a man was discovered face down in the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee at Carry Beach.

The fire-rescue team, aided by civilians, pulled the man to shore to administer medical aid.

Despite life-saving efforts, the man, identified as Thomas A. Lennon, 65, of Wolfeboro, was pronounced dead.

The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol unit is leading the investigation, which currently suggests no foul play in Lennon’s death.

The Wolfeboro Police Department, alongside the State Police and the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, are working together on the case.
