Brighton detectives seek public’s aid in locating burglary suspect

BOSTON — Brighton detectives are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Ricardo Bastos, a suspect wanted on a warrant for a burglary that occurred on May 14.

Bastos, a 36-year-old Hispanic male, is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities report he drives a red Honda and is known to frequent the Brighton Ave. area in Allston and the Framingham area.

The burglary took place at approximately 12:12 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, when officers from District 14 (Brighton) responded to a break-in on Murdock Street.

The suspect was observed entering an enclosed house porch carrying a Dunkin Donuts bag and returned later at around 1:04 a.m. with a McDonald’s bag.

Eight Allston/Brighton Youth hockey jerseys were reported stolen.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances of the incident.

They urge anyone with information on Bastos’s whereabouts to contact District D-14 Detectives at (617) 343-4256.

The department assures the community that the identities of individuals who offer tips in an anonymous manner will be protected.
