1 min read

BEDFORD — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Bedford Police Chief John Fisher announced today that Jessica Cavallaro, 24, has been arraigned on murder and assault charges in the shooting deaths of her parents.

Cavallaro appeared in Concord District Court facing two counts of murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and illegal possession of a firearm.

The charges stem from an incident earlier today on Washington Street where her parents, Thelma Tatten and Mark Cavallaro, were found shot to death.

The judge ordered Cavallaro held without bail.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 20.

Authorities say the investigation is active and ongoing, with efforts led by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Bedford Police Department, and State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorneys Suzanne Kontz and Mary O’Neill are assigned to the prosecution, and Cassandra Aviles is serving as the Victim Witness Advocate.
