1 min read

ARLINGTON — Arlington Police Department has issued a community notification regarding Richard C. Bent, a Level 3 sex offender, who is now residing within the city limits, according to the Sex Offender Registry Board.

Bent, 57, has been determined by the board to have a high risk of reoffending and poses a significant danger to the public.

The information released by the police includes Bent’s physical description — a white male with blue eyes, gray or partially gray hair, standing 63 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Residents can find Bent’s photo, taken on June 5, and his address at 1080 Mass Ave, Apt 11, on the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board’s website.

Bent’s criminal history includes convictions for open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior and enticing a child under the age of 16.

Authorities caution the public that sex offender registration information must not be used to engage in illegal discrimination or harassment.

Harassment or threats against an offender can result in a fine or imprisonment.

The police urge anyone who finds inaccuracies in Bent’s profile to contact the local police department or the Sex Offender Registry Board directly.

The board maintains the registration information and updates the site regularly to reflect any changes.

For more information, the public can access the registry at www.mass.gov/sorb or contact the Sex Offender Registry Board at (978) 240-6503 during business hours.
