BEDFORD — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Bedford Police Chief John Fisher announced today that 24-year-old Jessica Cavallaro of Bedford has been charged with murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and illegal possession of a firearm following the double shooting of her parents on Washington Street.

Authorities received a distress call around 9 a.m. from a neighbor, reporting that Cavallaro had admitted to shooting her parents.

Responding officers discovered her mother, 56, deceased in a vehicle parked on a neighboring property.

The weapon used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.

Cavallaro was taken into custody without resistance and is scheduled for arraignment in Concord District Court later today.

The investigation into the incident remains active, led by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Bedford Police, and State Police Detectives from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorneys Suzanne Kontz and Mary O’Neill are managing the prosecution, with Cassandra Aviles serving as the Victim Witness Advocate.
