Three-vehicle crash in Pittsford injures two, causes significant damage

PITTSFORD — A three-vehicle collision on US RT 7 near Parker Road resulted in injuries to two drivers and significant damage to two vehicles on June 5.

At approximately 4:33 p.m., Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash involving three vehicles.

According to the investigation, Jon Rishel, 71, of Brandon, was driving a 2014 Honda Civic southbound when he was unable to stop in time, crashing into the rear of a 2024 Toyota RAV4, operated by Susan Creighton, 62, of Brattleboro.

The impact pushed the RAV4 into the rear of a 2012 MINI Cooper driven by Macey Smith, 22, of Wallingford, who was stopped due to another vehicle turning.

Rishel, who was wearing his seatbelt, reported pain when breathing and minor neck pain.

Creighton also reported minor head pain.

Both were transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Smith reported no injuries.

The Civic and RAV4 sustained significant damage, while the Cooper suffered minor damage to its rear bumper.

Assistance at the scene was provided by the Regional Ambulance Service and the Pittsford Fire Department.

A Vermont Civil Violation Complaint is pending as the investigation continues.
