EASTON — A motor vehicle accident late Monday evening resulted in serious injuries and a significant traffic disruption when a car overturned on Route 59 at Hayes Street.
At approximately 8:36 p.m., Easton Police Department, along with Fire and EMS, responded to multiple 911 calls about a single-car accident.
The vehicle had rolled over, ejecting the driver, who was not restrained at the time, into a wooded area off the southbound shoulder.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.
Route 59 was closed to traffic in both directions as rescue operations, an investigation, and cleanup efforts were underway.
The road remained closed for around two hours, with traffic being diverted around the accident scene.
The Easton Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is seeking information from anyone who might have witnessed the accident.
