SEABROOK — A Massachusetts man died following a motorcycle crash Wednesday night on Ocean Boulevard in Seabrook.

The Seabrook police and fire departments responded to the scene at approximately 10:22 p.m. after a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck near Lawrence Street.

State Troopers from the Troop A barracks took over the investigation upon arrival.

The motorcyclist, Alfred F.

Ferrioli, 47, of Salem, Massachusetts, was riding a 1984 Harley Davidson southbound when he switched lanes to overtake a vehicle and attempted to merge back into the left lane.

In doing so, his motorcycle struck the rear of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by Daniel Deruntz, 45, of Revere, Massachusetts.

After the collision, Ferrioli lost control and the motorcycle left the roadway, crossed a grassy field, and hit a raised flowerbed in a home’s front yard, causing Ferrioli to be ejected.

Ferrioli was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Deruntz and his passenger were unharmed, and he stopped to call 911 immediately following the incident.

The pickup truck incurred minor damage.

The accident led to a closure of the right southbound lane of Ocean Boulevard for about three hours during the investigation and cleanup.

The crash is under further investigation by Trooper Brian Hanna.

Multiple agencies provided assistance at the scene including the Salisbury and Salem Police Departments from Massachusetts, the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and New England Truck Center.
