Hyde Park man arrested after Stop and Shop shooting in Revere

REVERE — A Hyde Park man was arrested last night following a shooting in the parking lot of Stop and Shop located at 540 Squire Rd., police said.

Jeremy Carl Taylor-Tripp, 20, faces multiple charges including Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card, and Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building.

According to authorities, the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between two individuals who knew each other.

The dispute escalated, resulting in one male party being shot.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives on scene were able to recover a 9mm handgun and a loaded large capacity magazine following Taylor-Tripp’s arrest. “Protecting our community is our top priority,” Chief of Police David J.

Callahan stated. “The collaborative efforts of our detectives and officers, alongside our local and state partners have resulted in the swift arrest of the suspect.”

The Revere Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Everett and Malden Police Departments, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department – Boston, and the Massachusetts State Police in the investigation and arrest.

Taylor-Tripp was arraigned in Chelsea District Court today.

He is currently being held for a dangerousness hearing scheduled for June 11.
