Man arrested for DUI after Stamford crash

STAMFORD — Vermont State Police arrested a 64-year-old North Adams, Massachusetts man for suspected DUI following a single-vehicle accident near Stamford Elementary School on Main Road.

Donald Therrien was taken to North Adams Regional Hospital with minor injuries after the crash, which occurred at 4:46 p.m. on April 6.

Troopers who went to the hospital to continue the investigation noted signs of impairment.

Therrien was subsequently apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities also cited Therrien for driving with a suspended license.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on June 24 at 8:15 a.m.

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Therrien sustained minor front-end damage.

Road conditions were reported as normal, and the weather was clear at the time of the incident.
