CANDIA — State Troopers from Troop A responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on Route 101 at around 2:30 p.m. Friday, which resulted from a car changing lanes and colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer.

Michael Mallet, 18, of Calais, was driving a Subaru Impreza eastbound in the right-hand lane when he switched lanes, striking the Chevrolet pickup in the left-hand lane operated by David Dooley, 24, of Londonderry.

The impact caused both drivers to lose control and their vehicles to flip into the center median, ultimately coming to rest on the westbound side facing the wrong direction.

A juvenile passenger in the Subaru and Mallet were evaluated and cleared by medical personnel at the scene, while Dooley was taken to Elliott Hospital for treatment of a minor head injury.

The westbound left-hand lane was closed for cleanup for about an hour and a half.

Authorities from the Candia Police Department, Candia Fire and Rescue, Auburn Police Department, Auburn Fire Department, and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office assisted State Police at the scene.
